Hardness Like Any Other Stone: Gemstone materials are hard. Some people have the misconception that they are too soft & very delilate. These materials can be easily used for interiors. We will provide you with the hardness of certain gemstones on the Moh’s Hardness Scale. Malachite is 4.00, Lapis Lazuli 5.0 to 5.5, Mother of Pearls is 4.00, Amethyst; the quartz is 7.00, Labradorite is 6.00, Rose Quartz & Tiger Eye is 7.00, Aventurines are 7.00, etc. If you campare these hardness values to most granites which have Moh’s hardness in between 3 & 4 then these are harder. This confirms on the ease of use of these materials. Although we recommended these for interiors. Slight care is what they need and nothing more.

Cleaning & Maintenance: Gemstone covering products can be cleaned as like other marbles & granites. Our product should be properly sealed before installtion by your installer. While cleaning acidic liquids should not be used as they might penetrate into the grouts and erode them. This will furter degrade the surface. Sometime cleaners also effect the colours of the stone permanently, we therefore suggest to use mild cleaning liquids with a soft cloth while cleaning. Kindly confirm on the properties of the cleaning products before use.

Quanitities: While ordering customers are requested to give the exact sizes as per project requirements with the requisite quantities. While calculating the number of tiles, kindly consider the cutting & breakage during installtion. We recommend a minimum of 7 % margin for it. As all our products are labour intensive, they take some time in manufacturing. Customers should consider that no shortages should occur. Thus sufficient quantities should be ordered at one time. As manufacturing takes a lot of time , the time aspect should be duly considered. We request customers to consider each project in totality, orderIng enough to suffice for the project. Turnaround Time: Gemstonecoverings will provide you with the turnaround time for your order once the designs & quantities are finalised. As most of the work is very fine, done by trained craftsmen by hand, the entire process is very time consuming. We always try to complete each project in the minimum time frame maintaing high standards of quality. In case if we require more time in some job the customer is notified.
